Josep Madurell — European and World Champion
This Barcelona-born champion took his first paddle strokes at age 8 in the neighborhood's parish center, and has dedicated his whole life to table tennis ever since.
His track record places him among the great figures of the sport: 19 individual titles, 7 in doubles and 25 by teams. In 2019 he reached 50 Spanish championships won and earned bronze at the European Championship for over-80s.
A Priorat with the soul of table tennis
The club has reached an agreement with Celler Ardèvol de Porrera (D.O.Q. Priorat) to produce an exceptional wine under the L'HòsTTia brand featuring the photo and name of the European and World Veterans Champion, Josep Madurell.
Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah blend, fermented in French oak barrels and aged for 12 months. Aromas of fresh cherries, plums, blackberries, roasted coffee, dried herbs, leather, chocolate and toast. On the palate, phenomenal balance and velvety tannins.
